Core Service

Commodity Trading & Brokering

Peregrine acts as principal broker in physical commodity transactions, sourcing qualified buyers and matching them with vetted suppliers. Our focus is on building durable trade relationships across both the mining and agricultural sectors — facilitating deals that are grounded in verified supply and genuine demand.

We operate on both sides of the transaction, representing buyer interests in sourcing reliable supply, and assisting producers and suppliers in accessing credible off-take markets. Every engagement begins with due diligence on the counterparty and a clear assessment of commercial viability.

Our current buy-side portfolio includes iron ore, magnetite, manganese ore, ferro-chrome (Cr:Fe), platinum group elements (PGEs), gold, and diamonds. On the supply side, we source and supply specialty coffee and cocoa beans from Burundi, Cameroon, and Malawi, along with other agricultural commodities.

Market Insights & Evaluation

Effective commodity trading requires more than a willing buyer and a willing seller. It requires a grounded understanding of market conditions, commodity specifications, pricing benchmarks, and the regulatory environment that governs each transaction.

Peregrine provides clients with the market intelligence and commodity evaluation services needed to make confident decisions in volatile and information-asymmetric environments. We draw on regional networks and commercial experience to deliver analysis that is practical, not theoretical.

Whether you are assessing a new supply opportunity, evaluating the merits of a proposed transaction, or seeking to understand pricing in a market you are entering for the first time, Peregrine can provide structured, honest guidance.

Supply Chain & Process Management

The physical delivery of a commodity is rarely straightforward. Export permits, inspection requirements, transport logistics, quality certification, customs compliance, and payment processing all require careful coordination — especially across African jurisdictions where regulatory environments vary considerably.

Peregrine manages the operational dimension of commodity transactions end-to-end. We work with established logistics partners, inspection agencies, and legal advisors to ensure that every transaction moves efficiently from origin to final destination.

Our process management capability is particularly valuable for buyers and suppliers who are entering new markets or commodities for the first time, and need a trusted counterparty to manage complexity on their behalf.

End-to-end logistics coordination and freight management
Export and import documentation preparation and review
Quality assurance, inspection, and certification liaison
Regulatory compliance — SARS, ITAC, and relevant trade bodies
Payment and settlement process oversight
Our Approach

We Only Facilitate Transactions We Believe In

Peregrine does not generate volume at the expense of quality. If we cannot verify supply, qualify the buyer, or confirm that a transaction meets commercial and legal standards, we will not proceed. This discipline is what makes Peregrine a counterparty our clients can rely on — trade after trade.
